David Howell, the founder of Able and Rush (People Solutions) Ltd served for 31 years in the police service and carved out a totally unique career that few will, if ever, replicate. Passionate about people David has had the amazing good fortune to have worked with some incredibly passionate, talented and professional people. Having experienced first hand how high performing teams and individuals react and perform in some truly stressful and harrowing situations this invaluable knowledge can now be passed on to benefit others and to ultimately create that all important synergy within teams.

David is a advocate of Crew Resource Management training and was one of the first ever police officers to have been authorised  by the Civil Aviation Authority to train colleagues within the ‘blue light’ services, travelling widely  across the UK and abroad to deliver bespoke, relatable and interactive training.

During those 31 years David has also witnessed an abundance of talent that has unfortunately remained undiscovered and dormant which could have easily been utilised to help solve those issues that organisations face on a day-to-day basis. By realising and releasing your employee’s innate talent organisations will truly benefit from that inspired investment, naturally developing, what all teams strive for, psychological safety.  Organisations will then inevitably flourish due to greater collaboration, inclusivity, innovation and creativity as a result of  increased staff engagement and understanding.

With the advent of psychological safety comes the additional benefit of an environment where issues to be resolved are done so in a non-judgmental, collaborative, inclusive and diverse setting where the team seek solutions for each other, celebrating that success together and learning together.

Using innovative and groundbreaking psychometrics, in a holistic manner, we can now accelerate and raise that individual and team development to a new level.  Developing a deeper individual self awareness will also provide a greater understanding of your colleagues and of the environment and circumstances that surrounds them. This new found understanding also brings with it the ability to contextualise the issues faced therefore not just providing ‘an answer’ but the ‘best answer’, putting into context the whole situation with all of its impact factors.

By using a baseline of innate talent employees are then respected for the talent that they bring to the team and their ability to deal with complexity. Aligning an individual’s potential innate talent complexity to the right role also protects the organisation and individual from becoming stressed, mentally ill and falling into the all too familiar trap of burn out.

This new and innovative approach will increase your organisations profitability by reducing absenteeism and internal complaints whilst increasing staff retention and wellbeing. It then becomes a win – win – win situation for you, your organisation and your clients.

Your people are undoubtedly your organisations greatest asset but they are also your greatest risk too. By understanding their innate talent, supporting and developing them your organisation and people will flourish and thrive.
